Hello

Let me tell you a short story:

I moved twice in the past six months and spent less than 1000 Euros for these 2 between city moves. The end.

Yes, that was the whole story. As you may already know, moving is one of the most expensive activities in Germany.

When I started looking for moving companies, the minimum cost was 1300 Euros from Berlin to Munich.

I asked Google for help, and as you can imagine, there are several people out there, kindly sharing their experience with us.

Thanks to all the people who suggested shipping companies, such as DHL.

Hint: It will possible to move to your new place with DHL when you have no furniture, or at least not heavier than 31.5 kg. Which was the case for me.

I just have lots of clothes, lots of books, and some kitchen appliances.

Imagining it was only 50 kg?

You’re wrong. I had 200 kg of belongings when moving from Berlin to Munich and 350 kg, when moving to Frankfurt.

What has happened in the past 6 months? I have no idea.

Actually I have. I bought more kitchen appliances. As you may know, I have a small YouTube channel for cooking, so that’s the reason.

Let’s stay on the main topic, relocation using shipping companies.

First watch the video, this is the main topic of this post.

Other than all the procedure that I mentioned in the video above, I want to share some of my experience with you.

When I was moving from Berlin to Munich, my first relocation, I wasn’t aware of all the DHL shipping rules. Not knowing enough German is always a good excuse.

So I had some Plastic XXL bags, a very big luggage, and small luggage, with the 10 kg weight, and they were sent back to Berlin.

Why?

Because you can only send “Boxes” in the normal way.

If you want to send something, which is not in the normal shape and normal way (Box 120x60x60cm), you must get a bulk option, which will add more expenses to it. But they will do it.

So, with the first experience, I was able to relocate again, from Munich to Frankfurt, without any hard feelings and obstacles with DHL.

It’s also time to say thank you to DHL, from our mailman in Berlin, to all the other folks in Munich and Frankfurt, anyone who was involved in the process and helped me move to the next destination, hopefully the last one.

If you have any questions, you can write me a comment here, on YouTube or easily write me an email snasihatkon@gmail.com

Cheers.

Sam
